Tech Data begins 2009 Technology Solutions Tour

Company hosts more than 260 IT resellers in Washington D.C., at tour's first stop


CLEARWATER, Fla. (April 16, 2009) – IT products distributor Tech Data Corporation is hosting the first Technology Solutions Tour conference of the year in Washington, D.C. Throughout the event, IT resellers will engage leading vendors, industry experts and Tech Data executives to discuss the latest software and networking technologies, and the IT needs of small and medium businesses (SMBs).

In conjunction with the Technology Solutions Tour, Tech Data is hosting its annual TechEDG Government and Education Conference. TechEDG attendees are exploring strategies and sharing best practices for capitalizing on IT spending in the government and education markets. More than 260 resellers are slated to attend Tech Data's Technology Solutions Tour and TechEDG conferences.

"During our inaugural run last year, Tech Data's Technology Solutions Tour crisscrossed the country, attracting nearly 1,200 IT resellers,” said Tech Data Vice President, Marketing Services Katie Dumala. "Through expert-led sessions and vendor-engagement, the Technology Solutions Tour provides resellers with insight into market and technology trends, as well as valuable business-building advice like sales management, customer service and financing strategies.”

Additionally, the Technology Solutions Tour is an opportunity for resellers to ensure they are making the most of Tech Data's broad array of value-added services.

This week's Technology Solutions Tour will explore:

- Networking Solutions—Representatives from Tech Data's Networking Product Marketing Division will offer insight into the latest networking, telephony, IP physical security and wireless solutions. Tech Data provides specialized support for resellers focused on emerging networking technologies such as IP video surveillance, unified communications and outdoor wireless networking.

- Software Solutions—Software licensing specialists from Tech Data's Software Product Marketing Division will present the distributor's extensive array of dedicated support for software resellers. This includes its software licensing desk; online licensing tool LION; the automated software licensing retrieval tool MyLicenseTracker; and software license renewal tracking through MyLeadTracker.

- SMB Market Opportunities—Tech Data sales executives will engage attendees and discuss Tech Data's support for SMB resellers.
