Detections systems used to scan for weapons and explosives at Denver, Minneapolis airports

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employed millimeter wave sensor systems provided by QinetiQ to enhance airport security during the Democratic and Republican National Conventions held in Denver and Minneapolis respectively late this past summer.

TSA used QinetiQ's SPO-7 passive stand-off detection system to scan for weapons and explosive materials on people at Denver International Airport and Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport during the respective conventions. The SPO-7, a compact version of QinetiQ's SPO-20 stand-off millimeter wave detection system, has a detection range of more than 20 feet, is portable, works in all weather and scans people while they are moving.
