DMP releases new motion detector

New PIR ceiling-mount detector features remote control capability

Springfield, Missouri — October 6, 2008 — Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) has released a new passive infrared (PIR) ceiling-mount motion detector. It’s the first PIR sensor that can be controlled remotely, either from the panel or from any network-connected PC via DMP Remote Link Panel management software. The 1126 is part of the broad selection of DMP wireless technology available, including sensors and panels like the XT Series with built-in wireless capability.

“DMP two-way wireless technology pays off in many of our products,” said Vice President of Sales, Jeff McAleer. “In the new 1126 Motion Detector, two-way wireless capability provides remote programming options with life-extending power-management functions. Remote control plus many other features make the 1126 a solid choice for almost every installation.”

The ability to remotely control the 1126 Motion Detector sensor enables faster, easier installation, and makes future programming changes more convenient. During installation and testing, the Walk Test Mode can be initiated from the panel.

Once in place, users can take advantage of the Disarm/Disable function. It automatically disables the 1126 when the area is disarmed, extending the typical five-year battery life to seven years. Other features include selectable high or low Sensitivity, and user-selected Pulse Count that can be programmed to allow multiple triggers before an alarm is initiated.

The 1126 provides excellent RFI and noise immunity, and is available in three versions: 360°, Wide-Angle or Curtain (vertical), making it appropriate for a variety of applications. In addition to alarms the 1126 can also transmit low battery and tamper alerts. The sensor is compatible with all XR100/XR500 Command Processor panels, using the 1100X, 1100XI, or 1100XH Receivers.
