BPT debuts new access control system

Impro IXP220 only requires two products codes for 99 percent of installations

Making an either / or choice is never good – why can’t you have both? With the arrival of the Impro IXP220 access control system at this year’s IFSEC, BPT Security Systems (UK), claims installers can have it all.

That’s because the IXP220 has been cleverly designed by world leading manufacturer Impro to offer the best of both worlds: a simple, cost-effective system that is quick and easy to install (virtually all systems can be created with just two product codes plus your favourite reader!), but one that is also truly scaleable as it can be expanded to 256 doors.

Real intelligence has been built into the IXP220 2 door controllers, allowing them to function in isolation from the rest of the system holding the complete database. The really clever feature of these controllers, which will set it apart from the market leader, is that they won’t need to be connected to a PC to operate anti-passback, zone routing, mustering, fire alarm door release, etc. All the controllers can operate via the Ethernet or RS485 without requiring any additional equipment. Any type of reader can be connected to these controllers from standard proximity, HID, RF or biometric options. The Impro readers can be up to 100m away from the door controllers offering engineers incredible flexibility when they get to site.

The new system also boasts operating speeds and flexibility beyond many of the market leading products and its expandability is practically endless. This latter point is particularly good news for installers as it will enable them to buy a very simple system to compete effectively for installations, but then up-sell the added features in the future if they choose.

This upgrade is readily achieved through simple unlock codes, allowing more specialist functions to be carried out such as building management, CCTV integrations, car parking management, etc.

UK Impro distributor BPT Security Systems (UK), – a specialist in door entry, access control and gate automation – believes it has something very special with the IXP220, as Janine Lewis, BPT’s sales & marketing director, comments: "Product training is time consuming for installers so Impro has designed its new access control system to be exceptionally simple to learn, but at the same time a practical, competitive solution to all access control requirements, big and small, simple or complex. It gives the installer the ability to undertake virtually any access control installation using just the one system. It really is that simple, that flexible and that convenient to use that we are confident in making the claim that it is the only access control system you will ever need."

Lewis is also keen to point out the added value that BPT brings to the Impro product range. "BPT is renowned in the security industry for its very high levels of service and quality. BPT offers free commissioning with every installer’s first Impro installation plus training and help with quotes and specifications."
