Bank of America and Wells Fargo Team up to Cut Back ATM Thefts

Financial institutions create a combined reward total of $80K for information in Calif.'s Maricopa County area

Security departments at banks and financial institutions don't have to go it alone. That's the message from Bank of America and Wells Fargo, two international financial institutions that have each pledged $40,000 in reward money (for a total of $80,000) for information leading to arrest and conviction of persons involved in ATM thefts in Arizona.

The thefts have been plaguing the Maricopa County area of Arizona, and according to Bank of America, the modus operandi of the thieves has been to use heavy-duty construction equipment to grab ATMs in the middle of the night.

The two companies investigation departments are cooperating and asking for members of the public to contact law enforcement directly (as anonymously as they wish) via one of the following methods:
