Pedz protects patients against child abductions

Xmark is pleased to introduce the Pedz system, the first product designed specifically for use in pediatric departments to protect patients from abduction and flight risk. The Pedz system introduces a number of first, based on the clinical needs of pediatric departments:

• Tamper-resistant tag with cut-resistant band: Any malicious attempt to remove the tag will result in an alarm, yet even the most curious kids will not trigger nuisance alarms by playing with the tag. • Re-attachable band: The Pedz tag can be quickly removed when a patient needs to go for medical procedures and then re-attached using the same band. The saves time and money. • Re-enroll feature: Patients can be allowed to pass through some exits without causing an alarm. Access can be tailored to each patient based on their age and risk factors, as well as restricted based on the time of day. • Personalized security: Patients can be allowed to pass through some exits without causing an alarm.
