Kroll Security to become part of Garda's Vance International division

Garda World Security Corporation, a growing Canadian manned security services provider, has acquired New York-based Kroll Security International.

Kroll Security International will be rolled up into Garda subsidiary Vance Itnernational. Kroll Security has specialized in providing risk management and high-risk services, even including such areas as executive protection and kidnapping and ransom response. In addition, Kroll provides supporting security, background and business continuity services to governments, corporations, non-governmental organizations and more.

LeMarque Sheppard, Vance International president and the executive in charge of leading Garda's new GardaWorld global risk businesses, said the Kroll acquisition puts Garda into a stronger international position.

"With the acquisition of KSI, we now have the opportunity to better support our clients in high-risk regions around the world," said Sheppard in a statement announcing the acquisition. "Governments are increasingly outsourcing critical security functions. Corporations are rapidly expanding their footprint in regions where instability and risk must be effectively addressed. The need for services of non-government organizations (NGOs) continues to expand dramatically. Our global service offering is well aligned with these growing needs," Sheppard concludes.
