Aug. 19, 2008
Former NYC mayor to present on security improvements since 9/11

Norwalk, Conn., Aug. 19 – ISC East will feature keynote speaker Rudy Giuliani, former New York City mayor and former U.S. presidential candidate at 11AM on October 29 in Hall 1E. ISC East is scheduled for October 29-30, 2008 from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York, NY.

Giuliani was selected to speak at ISC East because of his vast knowledge of New York City’s infrastructure, how it operates, as well as his leadership role in rebuilding and revitalizing New York City in the wake of September 11. The experience he had as mayor during such a trying period has provided him with immense insight in running a city in a crisis situation. Giuliani will bring a unique approach to security improvements since September 11.

TIME Magazine recognized Giuliani as the 2001 Person of the Year, referring to him as “Mayor of the World” and commending him for going above and beyond his call of duty. Giuliani was awarded honorary knighthood by the Queen of England; he also received the Ronald Reagan Presidential Freedom Award, given to “those who have made monumental and lasting contributions to the cause of freedom worldwide” and also “embody President Reagan’s lifelong belief that one man or woman truly can make a difference.”

ISC East welcomes thousands of security industry leaders every year. Giuliani can not only articulate the changing face of security to industry professionals, he can also provide them with advice on crisis management as well as successful leadership and its importance.

ISC East is sponsored by the Security Industry Association (SIA). It is part of the entire ISC portfolio including the ISC West event in Las Vegas, April 1-3, 2009 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center and ISC Brazil, May 12-14, 2009 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
