Suffern, NY (May 1, 2008) - On-Net Surveillance Systems Inc. (OnSSI), the professional security industry's leading developer of non-proprietary, open architecture intelligent IP-based video surveillance software, has announced today the release of version 6.5 of NetDVMS, its leading network video recorder (NVR) and camera management software, a key component in the newly-launched OnSSI Ocularis platform.
NetDVMS 6.5 adds two-way audio functionality to the bundled NetGuard-EVS video client. Users are able not only to monitor and record audio from camera-connected microphones, but also stream audio from the control room to camera-connected sound systems, allowing two-way audio interaction with video-monitored persons.
The new version supports different frame-rate video streams for live monitoring and recording, resulting in efficient data transport and reduced CPU loads on the video servers, while maintaining the quality of the recorded video. In addition, version 6.5 adds support for the MxPEG compression format, with H.264 and MPEG4 ASP planned for future releases.
NetDVMS 6.5 enables broader integration with third-party access control and physical security systems via OPC (OLE Process Control) Data Access. In addition, DVRs can be integrated into the IP video system, allowing users to leverage their existing investment in IP video recording devices.
Higher efficiency in video archiving is achieved through multi-disk archiving. Video can be archived to different media at different locations across the network, maximizing the use of the organization's storage resources. Mulli Diamant, VP of Sales, OnSSI noted, "NetDVMS 6.5, as part of the Ocularis platform, realizes OnSSI's vision of true open architecture, which allows users to tailor their IP systems to their exact needs using best-of-breed components – recorders, intelligent detection and physical security systems, as well as cameras and computer hardware. All of this adds to a more efficient and more cost effective system".
