Cameras can reboot automatically using iPulse device

VideogeniX has announced integration and certification of the latest JVC cameras with the patented and unique iPulse, a compact module that will automatically re-boot the cameras when necessary.

"Certain conditions such as power surges, brown outs, network errors, even solar flares can cause an IP device to lock up," says Glen Schaff, CEO of VideogeniX.

That universal fact makes iPulse immeasurably valuable in mission-critical security applications where there can be a long delay before a camera is restarted or the end user is even alerted to the problem – especially in cases where direct access to the camera is difficult or remote.

"JVC has tested the iPulse product and we see the obvious benefit for certain installations," said Geoffrey Anderson, national marketing manager for security products at JVC Professional Products. JVC’s outstanding network camera line and iPulse devices provide security integrators with an added selling point that also serves as a means of differentiating themselves from their competition.

JVC’s latest cameras that are now iPulse certified compliant include the VN-686U, VN-686WPU, VN-C20U, VN-V25U, VN-V26U and all incorporate Intelligent, Timed and Scheduled iPulse modes of operation.

Designed for AC/DC, POE (Power over Ethernet) cameras used in wired and wireless configurations, the iPulse Module measures only 1-˝” x 2” x ľ”. iPulse easily integrates into many popular IP security cameras, video servers or other network devices such as modems and remote sensors. iPulse does not require its own power source; it simply plugs into the device’s I/O port and includes plug-and-play software.

iPulse customers include the US Department of Defense, Drug Enforcement Agency, Secret Service, local, regional and national law enforcement agencies, Wall Street Institutions, power companies, universities and security product companies.
