Las Vegas, NV (April 2, 2008) – Morse Watchmans, the market leader in integrated key management solutions, has upgraded their flagship KeyWatcher ® system and is displaying it here at ISC West. Offering much more than key control, KeyWatcher is a full-featured access control solution and sophisticated business management tool.
“The KeyWatcher system has evolved substantially from a key box to an intelligent, integrated access control solution complete with accountability,†said Fernando Pires, VP Sales and Marketing, Morse Watchmans. “This evolution is behind our new theme, 'think inside the box.' Our goal is to continue leading the industry with cutting-edge products that provide increased value and flexibility.â€
New to the KeyWatcher is the brightly illuminated key storage feature which simplifies the identification and location of the correct key, while its new design provides maximum storage over minimal wall space. Fully scalable, the new modular design allows users to configure each unit to meet the specific needs of their application. A number of different modules are available, including credit card holders and lockers for cellular phones, firearms or other items that need to be accounted for and secured when not in use.
The front access panel of KeyWatcher incorporates a built-in key pad which can accommodate up to 2000 codes with PINs (personal identification numbers). An illuminated two-line by 16-character LED display prompts users through the process of key removal and replacement and also provides on-site audit trail data. Biometric fingerprint reader modules are available for KeyWatcher in addition to modules for magnetic or proximity card readers.
Another recently upgraded feature of KeyWatcher is the capability to send priority email alerts to security managers to inform them of the whereabouts of Smart Keys. Each individual key is secured to a Smart Key locking mechanism with built-in memory chip and data from the chip is stored when a key is inserted into a key slot. Users can only access keys for which they have an authorized user code, although keys can be returned to any location in the box.
To guard against tampering or vandalism, the unit has a number of built-in safety features. For example, KeyWatcher's tamper-proof mechanism triggers an alarm under a range of conditions including the use of force to gain access or remove a key, three consecutive invalid user codes or a door left open for more than 10 seconds after use. The system will also trigger the alarm if there is a power failure, a key is missing or not returned on time or a key returned by the wrong user.
To complete the system package, Morse Watchmans' KeyPro management software allows users to control the KeyWatcher and maximize its reporting and programmable access capabilities for added value and benefits. KeyPro software can generate practical management reports to trace key movements by time, date and user code. KeyPro's scheduler automatically downloads data to a secure PC, allowing system managers to sort and analyze information to maintain maximum control of access and security issues.
Each KeyWatcher is powered by AC electricity and supported by a 48-hour backup power supply. The system is designed with built-in RS-232 and optional Ethernet connectivity for PCs, modems, printers and networks.
