W cylindrical lock series sees upgrade, keeps low price

CARMEL, IND. – July 22, 2008 – Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced that end-users such as multi-family housing, retailers, government agencies, assisted living and urgent care services, light commercial and office facilities can now have the convenience of the W501 function with the highly durable W cylindrical lock series from Falcon at the same low price as other single key W functions. With the push button W501 function, a button on the inside locks the outside lever until the unit is unlocked by a key or by rotating the inside lever. Closing the door releases the push button and unlocks the door. The inside lever is always free. The entry lock uses a deadlocking latchbolt.

"Because it is so easy to use, this W501 function is especially convenient in both multi-family housing and retail dressing room applications," advises Jim Hooker, business development manger for Falcon Door Hardware.

Ideal for applications needing an affordable price point, the Falcon Grade 2 W Series locks feature small format interchangeable cores that are compatible with SFIC products from other manufacturers. Conventional cylinders are the same that are available in all Falcon and conventional key sections including the Schlage C Keyway, which is now master keyed across the complete Falcon product line. The W Series locks also feature heavy duty torsion springs for better lever return and to prevent lever sagging. They are non-handed for fast, easy field assembly.

The new W501 function is available on the W Series versatile Dane and Quantum solid, pressure-cast zinc levers as well as Hana and Elite knobs in five finishes. An abrasive lever coating option is also available. The W series can also be suited with many other series of locks from Falcon to fulfill the needs of your project.

W Series cylindrical locks from Falcon with the W501 function can be ordered now. More information is available at www.falcon.ingersollrand.com.
