Company's flagship solution, FIRSTResponder implemented at GSU

Risk Mitigation Systems, a technology and services company that helps businesses, universities and other organizations optimally plan for and respond to emergencies, today announced the launch of the company. Their flagship product FIRSTResponder, an incident response technology solution that bridges the gap between an emergency action plan and the tactical responses needed to effectively respond to an event, also launches today. The company debuts with Georgia State University piloting the system.

"We provide comprehensive technology and services for any incident ranging from life-threatening emergencies such as terrorist attacks or severe weather to facility issues and technology failure," says Mike Pinkus, CEO and Founder, Risk Mitigation Systems. "In today’s world, it is essential that organizations more effectively plan for emergencies through a virtual capacity. FIRSTResponder answers that challenge and offers capabilities that do not currently exist elsewhere on the market."

End-to-End Response Technology and Services

Risk Mitigation Systems provides end-to-end incident response, monitoring, communications technology, and services that optimize incident resolution and mitigates the human, business, capital and liability impact associated with incidents, crisis and disasters.

Risk Mitigation Systems’ FIRSTResponder offers business continuity services and fully-hosted, multi-layered response platform. The system provides comprehensive planning and two-way voice, text and email communications response. When an incident or emergency occurs, FIRSTResponder’s pre-defined command and control support plan is immediately and automatically triggered, directing the communications and actions of all parties responsible for resolving the incident. The system also includes workflow-enabled communications and recording capabilities, ensuring that not only do the right people get involved at the right time with the right information, but the system creates an auditable record of the actions taken by all parties.

The company’s Professional Services group assists customers with the development, implementation and validation of plans and protocols to ensure the successful recovery and restoration of interrupted critical functions.

Virtual Guardian Solutions Ensure Personal Safety

FIRSTResponder offers additional peace of mind for students, personnel, and guests through its core product set, Virtual Guardian. Virtual Guardian offers three solutions which can be integrated with any pre-existing technology including:

• Virtual Guardian Escort: A response and voice recording system that monitors the whereabouts and safety of an organization’s most valuable assets employees, faculty, and students. The user registers via phone with the system that they will be traveling/walking and where. The system calls that user periodically to check on their status until the user turns the notification off. If no answer is received, the system launches an alarm, putting security into action to find the person to ensure their whereabouts and safety. • Virtual Guardian Roll Call: Designed specifically for events, conferences, military deployments, or evacuations, Virtual Role Call offers the ability to quickly and effectively track and account for organizations and their people utilizing voice response and recording technology within a designated expiration period. • Virtual Guardian Visitor: Ideal for large venues including stadiums, campuses and malls, Virtual Guardian Visitor offers guests the ability to temporarily sign-up for the venue’s notification.

"It takes more than a solid plan to be adequately prepared for the unexpected. It’s the ability to quickly and effectively put that plan into action in a controlled manner that truly mitigates impact. The FIRSTResponder system offers a dynamic process by which to actually command an emergency incident and bridge the gap between all our communications tools," said Mike Raderstorf, Director of Emergency Management, Georgia State University. "With our pilot of FIRSTResponder, I’m confident Georgia State University will reach the upper echelon in emergency preparedness and become the standard for other universities to follow."
