Poised for growth, a seasoned security industry expert joins the sales team

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 23, 2007—AvaLAN Wireless Systems, an innovator in the wireless Ethernet market, recently named Richard Ramm as National Strategic Account Manager to assist in promoting sales of its wireless Ethernet bridge devices and new point-to-multi-point radio product suite.

In this new position, Ramm will be primarily focused on driving the acquisition and development of new distributors and 3rd-party OEM engagements in the Physical Security and SCADA / Industrial controls markets.

"As a former national sales director Richard is well-recognized and respected in the field, and brings with him an in-depth understanding of solution selling into tough customers in various industries. He's been knocking on many of the doors we would like to open," said Ray Shilling, Vice President of Marketing, AvaLAN Wireless.

Ramm brings forth 25 years of experience within the technology and security industries, including positions that range from security system installer and vice president of sales of security products to director of sales and regional sales manager in companies located from Illinois to California. Most recently he was a sales manager for IMAG Technologies (Wireless Access Control Products), of Vancouver, British Columbia. He also held leadership sales positions with Wyreless Access and Aleph International. He has prior working relationships with major multi-office national manufacturers of access control products.

Shilling said Ramm's depth of industry knowledge, coupled with his experience of working with large national accounts, made him a top draw for this position as AvaLAN Wireless continues to grow and target specific markets.

Ramm says he was attracted to AvaLAN Wireless because of the company's high quality products and the manner in which they are positioning themselves for growth in the security industry. He is further impressed with the hard-working nature and integrity he sees in the people within the organization.

"I know the channels…but I'm just as lucky to have them as they may feel about having me," Ramm said. "They have a quality product, a specific goal in mind, and they are successfully progressing toward that goal. They are a true leader in the field of wireless technology and it is great to be a part of that."

In this new position Ramm says he is looking forward to the opportunity to connect with integrators and manufacturers of access control and other security equipment to help end-users find the best solutions to their security challenges while increasing AvaLAN's profitability.

"I am really looking forward to providing technical assistance to integrators, showing them the benefits of these newer wireless solutions that save time and money. I think hard-wiring a project is going to be relegated to a more minor role in years to come," Ramm said. "Wireless is the future."
