Project being integrated by leading global defense contractor

SAN ANTONIO--MDI, Inc. (NASDAQ:MDII), the leading provider of Unified Technologyâ„¢ solutions for the security industry today announced that it received this week purchase orders for its products as part of a unified security system implementation project at two Marine Corps bases located in the United States. The projects are being implemented and maintained by a Certified MDI Unified Solutions Partner â„¢, which is ranked as one of the five largest defense contractors in the world. Under the terms of the contracts, information on specific geographic locations, system specifications and assets being protected can not be made available by MDI.

The MDI unified security platform is currently protecting over 20 Marine Corps bases strategically located across the globe. The MDI Unified Platformâ„¢ is one of only a handful of products that have the security features and advanced capabilities to meet the requirements demanded by government locations managed by the Department of Defense. MDI delivers a centralized security command and control environment to its clients, which empowers them to manage and enforce security processes across an entire base in real-time.

The company has been providing managed security solutions to high-security Government clients for over twenty-five years. It is held in high regard by this market because it’s open architecture platform is able to meet stringent security guidelines, provide detailed real-time reports and integrate with third party security products that many other systems can not.

The first of these two Bases to utilize the MDI system is located on over 150,000 acres of land. The Base has been the recipient of multiple “Commander-in-Chief” Awards for institutional excellence, which recognized the base on a Department of Defense-level for effectively managing assets and developing quality programs to accomplish the mission of providing expeditionary forces in readiness. Innovations in military training and preparedness at this location deliver the unique battlefield strategies that are vital to our national security.

The Base will install the MDI products to upgrade its current security posture with a more robust and scalable solution than they are currently operating. The unique customization and configuration features of MDI’s award-winning Unified Technology™ platform will allow base security personnel to manage by exception across multiple layers. As an anomaly, or an intrusion or an occurrence takes place, the automated platform commands a series of pre-configured security events to occur. This allows security managers to command and control building, access and video surveillance functions across multiple remote facilities, aimed at containing or minimizing the threat.

The second Base maintains critical operations, training, services and support facilities that are essential for the readiness and global projection of ground combat forces and aviation units that protect and defend our country’s assets. The Base-wide unification delivered to this client will empower security personnel to receive the actionable intelligence necessary to make decisions in real-time, based on the exact levels of security needed, for specific geographic operating locations and perimeters across the base.
