Magazine awards video analytics company with CCTV innovation award

Stockholm, Sweden – October 24, 2007: Agent Video Intelligence, Inc. (Agent Vi), provider of pure video analytics for business intelligence and enterprise security solutions, today announced that it has been awarded the prestigious Detektor International Award 2007 for Innovative Achievement in CCTV Products. The awards were announced in conjunction with the opening of the Sectech Exhibition & Conference for security professionals last night in Stockholm, Sweden.

“We're extremely grateful to receive this award from Detektor International in recognition of our technology,” said Agent Vi CEO Buddy Flerl. “This distinction was underscored in the past year by the seventy-plus new customers in over twenty-five countries from the business intelligence and security surveillance sectors, and their loyal support of Agent Vi as a trusted provider of enterprise analytics software. I'd also like to extend our congratulations to the other winners in this category: Axis Communications, Checkpoint Systems/Milestone Systems and Sony. They are all worthy colleagues and good partners as well."

Lennart Alexandrie, Editor-in-Chief of Detektor Magazine and chairman of the Panel of Judges for the Detektor International Award, noted, “Through retaining the strengths of both edge- and server based intelligent analytics, the Agent Vi System avoids the individual limitations of each technology principle. This outstanding scalable solution for enterprise-type installations is truly an achievement of importance.”

Agent Vi is the first company to provide a technology that meets the low bandwidth requirements of closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance networks supporting extremely large numbers of distributed cameras at the lowest industry cost. The strength of Agent Vi's video analytics platform comes from its coactive processing environment that partitions detection algorithms so that data, not video, is more efficiently processed in both the edge device (cameras or DVRs) and a central server. This approach dramatically minimizes both installation and operational costs by lowering hardware and network bandwidth requirements. Using IP-based networks, the software can update all cameras on a network from one computer with a single flash of the agents running within the cameras. Competitive solutions require on average 32 servers to support 150 cameras, while Agent Vi’s software allows organizations to utilize a single, existing server to deploy the same number of cameras.

Detektor International is a leading security technology trade magazine for the EMEA market. The Detektor International Awards were introduced seven years ago to honor those products and manufacturers that have contributed particularly innovative, original and/or new technological designs and developments to the industry. An important contributing factor to the reputation of the Detektor International Award is that manufacturers cannot apply for the award. Selection is carried out exclusively by a jury comprising eight independent professionals, all associated with the editorial board of Detektor International, from four different countries (Sweden, Denmark, Norway and UK,), who have followed new products from around the world over the past year. As in previous years there were three categories: CCTV, Access Control, and Alarm Products.

Agent Vi, which is headquartered in New York City, recently moved its expanded R&D staff to a spacious new research and development facility near Tel Aviv.
