Companies’ solutions to help protect critical electric infrastructure

Industrial Defender announced earlier this week that it has acquired Teltone Corporation, the maker of the popular Gauntlet substation communications solution.

According to a statement issued by Industrial Defender, the deal allows the company to offer the electric utility industry the most "comprehensive cyber security solutions for industrial control and SCADA systems."

Brian M. Ahern, president and CEO of Industrial Defender, said in the statement that Teltone’s technology "fits perfectly" into their model of security as it relates to the protection of critical infrastructure.

Industrial Defender currently protects an extensive network of North American oil and gas pipelines, a quarter of the UK’s power capacity, as well as that nation’s largest fossil fuel plant. The company is also responsible for protecting 160 chemical plants scattered throughout 21 countries.
