Newest software release marks one of industry's first full access control implementations of the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0

San Diego, CA, Sept. 25, 2006 – Tyco Fire & Security announces Software House C•CURE 9000, a breakthrough in traditional access control with one of the first implementations of the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 technology. Developed with the .NET Framework 3.0, SQL Server 2005 and other standard IT tools such as XML, C•CURE 9000 delivers the best of access control while empowering customers to converge their physical and logical security systems.

"C•CURE 9000 denotes a fundamental shift in the protection of people and assets," said Don Lyman, vice president of Tyco Fire & Security's Access Control and Video Systems. "Rather than just another security system that deters criminal activity, C•CURE 9000 streamlines the management of many kinds of applications – from physical access control and video surveillance to single sign-on authentication and integrated ERP systems."

Unlike other security systems designed primarily for access control, Software House developed C•CURE 9000 with systems integration in mind. Using the Software House integration platform, which is built on the powerful object-oriented managed code of .NET Framework 3.0, C•CURE 9000 enables easier integration with a wide variety of business applications using standard IT tools and processes.

For businesses committed to building a future-proof security and event management infrastructure, this translates into a tremendous increase in flexibility and efficiency across their organization.

"The security and access control market is evolving to a new level and Software House products have always been on the leading edge of this market," said Karthik Nagarajan, Industry Manager, Frost & Sullivan. "With the release of C•CURE 9000, the company continues to challenge its competition with market changing solutions. Software House is one of the first to offer a solution that truly integrates the best of IT and physical security."

C•CURE 9000 delivers its powerful functionality via an intuitive user interface similar to that of Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Windows Explorer with easy navigation and tree structures. A practical application layout editor lets users drag and drop any integrated application onto a single monitoring station. This creates a customized hub for all activities via a single "command and control" center.

In parallel, C•CURE 9000 makes optimal use of Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation as the fundamental integration technology, and XML as the core communication language, setting the standard for implementation of IT tools and best practices.

"Microsoft is excited to see Tyco Fire & Security committed to building cutting-edge applications on Microsoft technologies," said Thom Robbins, Director of .NET Platform Marketing at Microsoft Corp. "The early adoption of the .NET Framework 3.0 and Visual Studio 2005 by Software House will enable it to deliver a solution that goes beyond traditional security systems benefiting our mutual customers."

During the development process, Software House was able to leverage its long-standing relationship with Microsoft as well as draw heavily from the lessons learned as a founding member and technical committee participant of the Open Security Exchange (OSE). As a contributor to many of the OSE's specifications on interoperability, Software House has been at the forefront, helping to emphasize the importance of this initiative.

Additional C•CURE 9000 key features include:

- Distributed architecture that supports organizational/infrastructure growth
- Ability to easily drag and drop cameras icons for powerful integration with digital video management systems such as American Dynamics Intellex
- Dynamic views that provide a tailored display of activities and screens
- Advanced graphical maps to virtually control security objects
- Intuitive installation capabilities that let users upgrade remote systems from a central server virtually eliminate painstaking, system-wide upgrades
- Robust Software House integration platform that allows third party developers to create powerful applications

C•CURE 9000 joins the highly-regarded family of C•CURE software solutions, including the popular C•CURE 800/8000 and works with the entire suite of Software House iSTAR controllers, including the new iSTAR eX four-door encrypted controller.

More than 6,000 customers, and nearly 70 percent of the companies listed on the Fortune 100, already use Software House branded solutions to help solve their most complex business operation challenges.
