Fairport, NY – Bosch Security Systems, Inc., a full-line manufacturer of high-quality security solutions, today announced the release of new software for the DiBos 8 Digital Video Recorder. Software Version 8.21 enables the DVR to deliver crisper images and alert users to degraded video quality or lost camera signals.
The DiBos 8 DVR now offers recording, live viewing and playback of analog and IP video at a higher resolution (4CIF). With improved video quality, security personnel can capture clearer images that show a greater level of detail.
The sophisticated tamper detection system included in Software Version 8.21 will generate an alarm if a camera has been repositioned or if the video signal is lost. DiBos 8 can also forward the alarm by e-mail, SMS, NetSend and the malfunction relay to ensure security personnel are immediately alerted when video surveillance is interrupted. The DVR automatically displays camera alarms in live viewing mode and logs all alarm acknowledgements and deletions.
The DVR also generates a warning when a camera is out of focus or when video images are abnormally bright or dark, indicating a person may be attempting to cover a camera or blind it with excessive light. These new tamper detection capabilities make the DiBos 8 ideal for high-risk environments, including banking, retail, transportation and government applications.
With the new software, the system can be used with Bosch's portfolio of multi-channel encoders, including the VIP X2, VIP X1600, VideoJet 8004 and VideoJet 8008, which convert multiple analog camera signals into digital format and transmit them across the network to the DiBos DVR. Users can configure the DVR for one alarm input and one relay output for each video channel. Motion detection and video content analysis are also supported, including the capability to search for motion.
Customers can upgrade their existing DiBos 8 by downloading Software Version 8.21 from the Bosch Software/Firmware Download website. New DiBos Setup CDs and Recovery DVDs are also available.
