Behavior recognition and analysis software now readily accessible to government organizations

Vidient Systems, Inc., a developer of behavior recognition and analysis software that detects security and safety breaches in real-time, announced today that Vidient SmartCatch 2.5 software has been added to the General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 70, making the company's intelligent video surveillance technology approved for government organization purchase.

The addition of Vidient SmartCatch 2.5 to the GSA Schedule ensures that federal agencies have access to the industry's leading intelligent video software providing behavior recognition and analysis that can improve security for a wide range of public facilities such as government buildings, courthouses, military locations and perimeters, as well as for the monitoring of our borders.

"Increasingly, many of our public and government institutions are the highest profile facilities in our cities and towns," said Brooks McChesney, president and CEO of Vidient Systems, Inc. "And now, more than ever, it is critical that these facilities are secured and protected with the most advanced technologies available. We are very pleased to be added to the GSA Schedule, and now our latest intelligent video solutions are easily accessible to all the various government entities who can take advantage of advanced behavior recognition and analysis software and real-time response management technologies."

Under the Schedules program, GSA establishes long-term government-wide contracts with commercial firms to provide supplies and services at favorable prices for given periods of time. Customers enjoy shorter acquisition lead-times, lower administrative costs, and reduced inventories. Additionally, GSA Schedule ordering activities have the opportunity to meet small business goals, while promoting compliance with industry regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Vidient SmartCatch 2.5 provides the most advanced intelligent video surveillance system available today. Featuring true behavior recognition capabilities, it solves real world problems not just motion detection or simple object tracking. A policy-based system, it delivers a comprehensive set of behaviors that can be monitored indoors and out, including access control for tailgating and exit lane violations, and facility protection for detecting loitering and unattended objects.

SmartCatch 2.5 also includes new applications for robust perimeter surveillance, the integration of an advanced real-time alert management response system and built-in support for leading access control systems and mobile communication devices. It provides protection across an entire enterprise by integrating seamlessly with a company's existing security infrastructure and including a complete suite of APIs for further integration, customization of the user interface, and tailoring of applications. It is designed to support a customer's existing security management program, easily accommodating multiple security protocols.

Vidient SmartCatch 2.5 is now in use in facilities across the country. The company recently announced SmartCatch 2.5 was selected as part of an innovative new 'Airport of the Future' security solution under development at Florida's Tallahassee Regional Airport. Other airports using Vidient's proven technology are San Francisco International, San Diego International and Salt Lake City International. Two of the security projects were funded in part by the Transportation Security Administration.

Along with government organizations now able to order SmartCatch 2.5 off the GSA Schedule, the product is currently available worldwide through a network of channel partners across North America, a global marketing and distribution agreement with NEC and directly from Vidient Systems.
