Paxton Access Unveils New Products for IFSEC 2007

New access control products include wireless control unit, Proximity readers and Easyprox

Brighton, UK, 16 April 2007: At IFSEC 2007, Paxton Access Limited, the UK market leader in the design and manufacture of electronic access control systems, is unveiling a series of important new product lines including Net2 nano (a new wireless control unit for Net2), a new range of PROXIMITY Architectural readers, and Easyprox, an all-in-one battery powered lock and access control system with wireless connection to Net2 software.

Net2 nano is a new wireless control unit for Net2, Paxton Access’ leading network access control system. Net2 nano will reduce the cost of purchasing and installing Net2 as it is easy to install in environments where a wired solution is impractical or limits the number of doors on a system.

“Customers want a choice of fixed wired and wireless control units”, continues Mark Thompson, Paxton Access’ Development Director. “Wired systems offer the ultimate in reliability and guaranteed response, whereas wireless control units are better suited to applications where users do not need a guarantee that the control units can report information to the Net2 server in ‘real-time’”.

Paxton Access’ new and unique range of PROXIMITY Architectural readers will transform the appearance of access control readers in corporate organisations for whom design and style is an important aspect of their image. The range comprises three different bezel finishes - brush chrome, matt black and satin chrome – available with a choice of three inserts - wood, stone or glass. An insert template is also available for customers who wish to provide their own insert, for instance to match an existing wall finish.

With its all-in-one battery powered lock and access control system, Easyprox will broaden the appeal of wireless network access control. With wireless connection to Net2 software, Easyprox offers features usually associated with much more complex systems. Like Net2 nano, ease of installation will prove a decisive factor in its popularity.

Finally the Paxton Access stand (Hall 6, stand 11072) will also feature:

A new marine reader fabricated from marine grade stainless steel making it suitable for the harshest of outdoor environments. The reader features a blue backlight for optimum visibility with the light changing as the token is presented.

Paxton Access’ new Net2Air Site Surveyor kit that is used to assess the suitability of a site for Net2 nano.
