San Diego, CA (September 25, 2006) – Adding to an already wide range of products that deliver more than just power, Altronix is featuring several new products at ASIS that offer designers and installers more flexibility and less compromise in low voltage power solutions. Introductions include the new FireSwitch Series of Power Distribution Modules for access control applications. New product introductions to existing series include the HubWay 2I Video/Data/Power device and the Maxim 75D Access Power Controller. Also on display is Altronix’s recently introduced StrikeIt Series Panic Device Power/Controllers.
“Altronix’s new branded product series incorporate our proven core power supply expertise along with unique application-specific solutions to provide security professionals with more efficient and cost-effective choices for systems design and integration,†said Alan Forman, President, Altronix Corporation. “Our commitment to this industry is reflected in the ongoing evolution of our products and their ability to offer the best and most convenient solutions for low voltage power requirements.â€
Altronix new FireSwitch Power Distribution Modules are designed for use with access control locking devices and incorporate an FACP interface to unlock doors and enable emergency egress when fire alarms are activated. Three fused models are available: FireSwitch D4 (4-channels), FireSwitch D8 (8-channels) and the FireSwitch D16 (16-channels). The units convert a single low voltage AC or DC input into multiple fuse protected outputs routing power to the locking devices. The modules route and distribute up to 28VAC/28VDC @ 10 amps supplied current. Units include an LED power indicator. Also available are Altronix’s FireSwitch D4D, D8D and D16D Power Distribution Modules with resettable PTC protected outputs.
The HubWay 2I Video/Data/Power device provides centralized UTP video, RS422/RS-485 data and distributed camera power over a single CAT-5 or higher cable for distances up to 1000 feet. The new HubWay2I, is designed to accommodate video surveillance cameras lacking internal isolation transformers.
The Maxim 75D Access Power Controller interfaces with access control panels and myriad access control accessories and locking devices. The new unit converts a 115VAC 60Hz input into eight 12VDC and eight 24VDC independently controlled PTC protected outputs. The outputs can also be operated in both fail-safe and/or fail-secure modes. All outputs incorporate built-in selectable latching or non-latching fire alarm (FACP) interface.
Altronix is also showcasing its StrikeIt Panic Device Power/Controller Series and Tempo Universal Two Stage Digital Timers. StrikeIt Panic Device Power/Controllers are designed specifically to handle the high power demand required to activate panic device egress hardware. The Tempo Universal Two Stage Digital Timers are designed for a wide range of timed door control applications including delayed egress, door prop alarm, door annunciator and alarm swinger eliminator applications.
