In late 2005, Securitas Systems AB signed a partner agreement contract with Milestone Systems to be a reseller and Systems Integrator of XProtect IP video surveillance software. Since then, training and support on the new technology has been established. Interest levels are growing fast in the market, as many people want integrated network technology to gain greater efficiency and effectiveness in their security system installations.

Milestone Systems is the world leading provider of open platform IP video surveillance software, according to IMS Research and Frost & Sullivan market analysts. The open architecture of the XProtect software enables integration with other security systems like access control and Point Of Sale or Automatic Teller Machine transaction data. Milestone software also allows the widest choice in network video hardware, with support for more than 200 equipment models from over 30 manufacturers.

"Milestone Systems sees a great opportunity to work with Securitas Systems, one of the leading security systems integrators. Their vast network of installed customers will want only the best in their transition from analog to digital implementations – and that is the way of the future," says Mads Bo Frederiksen, VP Sales for Milestone Systems.

"Securitas Systems wants to embrace IP technology for video surveillance and therefore chose Milestone Systems. Their XProtect software is an open platform from which we can build the best-of-breed security solutions for our customers, to reap many benefits from interoperability with our other security offerings," says Mr. Per Edsmar, Marketing Manager, Securitas Systems Sverige AB.

In August 2006, Securitas Systems held a special event for their customers in connection with the European Athletics Championships in World Track and Field, which took place in Gothenberg, Sweden. Milestone XProtect Enterprise software was demonstrated there, including surveillance images from the sports event location.
