Boston apparel company's e-retail database breached

A breach of the Lifeisgood.com website may have netted customer information for about 9,250 Life is good clients, the Boston apparel company reported.

The retailer, which is known for its cheerful, outdoorsy T-shirts and hats, reported on Monday that the company's database was breached. The illegally accessed data included addresses and credit card information, but did not include Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers or date of birth information.

The company said in a Monday press release that it was taking additional security measures for its databases, and had reported the breach to federal law enforcement officials.

"We have put additional security measures in place and have taken steps to ensure that this type of a breach does not happen again," said Life Is Good CEO Bert Jacobs, who added he was "confident in the security of our site."
