Altronix Showcases New Line of Integrated Products

Sept. 24, 2007
New products deliver more than just power

Las Vegas, NV (September 24, 2007) - Altronix Corporation continues to enhance its line of integrated branded products with several introductions at ASIS 2007. Offering more than just power, the new additions bring designers and installers increased flexibility in low voltage power solutions specifically designed for advanced security system installations. New additions to Altronix's established line of integrated products include the new enhanced Hubway Series, the Maxim 55 Access Power Controllers and the AL125UL Power Supply/Charger Series.

"As system integration continues to become more prevalent in security and surveillance system design, our integrated product series make it easier and more cost-efficient for security professionals to implement advanced systems," said Alan Forman, President, Altronix Corporation. "By combining Altronix's field proven power supply expertise with application specific solutions that facilitate efficiencies in designing, installing and managing power, these new products offer our customers even greater value."

Leading the next generation of video/data/power products which bring the benefits of centralized transmission to a wider range of video surveillance installations, the new Hubway Series transmits UTP video, RS-422/S485 data and power on a single CAT-5E or CAT-6 cable for distances of up to 3000 feet. The units are available with 8 or 16 video channels in a new space saving 1U rack mount chassis that fits standard 19" EIA racks or may be wall or shelf mounted. They can be ordered with or without integral distributed camera power outputs with several choices of power ratings that are individually selectable for 24VAC or 28VAC. The units are compatible with AC and/or DC cameras with Altronix's 24VAC HubwayA or 12VDC HubwayD Video Balun Combiners. In addition, the units feature built-in PTCs and surge suppression, as well as adjustments for picture quality and gain control. An optional remote module allows video feeds from four cameras to be transmitted on a single structured cable while supplying the required camera power and totally eliminating the possibility of voltage drop.

Altronix has also redesigned its Hubway UTP passive receiver hubs in the same space saving chassis with similar features and options with or without integral power for video transmission ranging up to 750 feet. All new Hubway models operate at 115 or 230VAC, 50/60Hz and include an IEC320 detachable, grounded line cord.

Altronix's new Maxim 55 Access Power Controllers feature two power supply chargers and two eight output access power controllers mounted in a unique enclosure that's designed to distribute, route and switch power for access control hardware and accessories. The Maxim 55's sixteen independently controlled fuse-protected 12VDC filtered and electronically regulated fail safe/fail secure outputs are activated by an open collector sink or normally open dry trigger input received from an access control panel, stand-alone keypad, push button or other request for exit (REX) devices such as a PIR, etc. Additionally there are 16 auxiliary (unswitched) power outputs for card readers and other devices. The Maxim 55 is complete with an FAI (Fire Alarm Interface) and LEDs that indicate whether outputs or the FAI disconnect are triggered. The unit delivers 12VDC, which is rated at 20 amp max and is designed to charge sealed lead acid or gel-type batteries. The Maxim 55 also features AC fail supervision, battery fail and battery presence supervision. Its purposely-designed oversized enclosure permits flexible wire management and includes ample room for up to four 12AH rechargeable batteries. Many other new Maxim models are available with various power ratings in 12VDC or 24VDC versions or combinations of both with either fused or PTC protected outputs.

Altronix's new AL125UL Dual Output Power Supply/Charger Series is designed to provide security professionals an economical solution to power small scale access control installations with magnetic locks, card readers and PIRs, along with a built-in FAI. The UL/CUL listed series products are available in several model configurations with 115VAC input or powered by a UL listed low voltage plug-in transformer. The AL125UL provides 12VDC or 24VDC at 1 amp via two filtered and electronically regulated outputs with integral battery charger. The unit's compact enclosure also accommodates one 12VDC 7AH battery or two 12VDC 4AH batteries for back-up in the event of a power failure with an external LED indicator to monitor AC input, DC output and fire alarm disconnect. The AL125ULP provides 12VDC at 1 amp or 24VDC at 500mA and includes a low voltage UL listed plug-in transformer to eliminate costly electrical work. For applications with higher current requirements, Altronix offers the AL175UL Series Power Supply/Chargers, which provide 1.75 amp at 12VDC or 24VDC.
