NetAXS access control panel allows web-based or PC-based control, four-door programmable

LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 20, 2007 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced that it will unveil its new NetAXS access control panel at ISC West 2007. NetAXS is an innovative four-door programmable panel offering a hybrid Web-based or PC-based system that gives customers an easy-to-install solution for a new access control system or updates to an existing one.

The next generation hybrid solution lets customers tailor the level of security and functionality that best meets their business' needs. The system features hardware that is simple to program and effortless to install, yet allows for seamless integration and software that scales up or down depending on customer requirements.

Using a built-in Web server, the system can be accessed anywhere Internet is available. Since there is no PC software to install, customers who choose the Web interface do not have to worry about operating system compatibility, virus attacks or other computer issues such as hard drive crashes or system lock-ups. The Web browser allows a customer to manage the entire system, run reports, monitor events and alarms, and add and remove users. This flexibility is ideal for remote activity such as facility check-in, managed access and manual override of doors or time zones.

NetAXS offers users three configuration choices:

- The Expanded option incorporates the control panel within an enclosure that includes the access control board, power supply and battery backup. This option is completely pre-wired, and powers locks directly using an on-board power supply and relay distribution system. In addition, it has a fire-rated transmission function that allows a signal connected to the fire panel to release doors in the event of an evacuation.

- The Standard option features the control panel and battery within a standard size enclosure. It is ideal for systems that provide separate locking power or local power supplies.

- The Basic option combines a control panel and connectors identical to Honeywell's popular N-1000-III and N-1000-IV access control panels, offering virtually effortless retrofit functionality.

NetAXS is a direct replacement for Honeywell's robust N-1000-IV control panel and can be placed in existing installations without having to re-wire or re-program. Customers who replace their N-1000 panels with NetAXS will be able to take advantage of built-in Ethernet functionality, a fast 32-bit processor, FLASH memory, and expandable inputs and relays. Pre-wired configurations allow NetAXS to be programmed offsite and plugged into an existing N-1000 system, saving hours of installation time.

"Because NetAXS adds next generation Web capabilities to our access control products, it extends the functionality of our popular N-1000 to ensure easy upgrades," said John Smith, marketing manager, Honeywell. "Whether a customer is installing a new system or upgrading an existing one, the intuitive NetAXS configuration allows an installer of any level to hang it up, plug it in, put in the batteries and go."

Whether users choose the intuitive Web-based interface or reliable communication via PC, NetAXS is extremely adaptable and user-friendly, and offers simple installation and programming.
