Honeywell Introduces New, Affordable Ultra-Compact Indoor Camera

Sept. 5, 2006
Wide Dynamic Color Camera Ideal for High-contrast Enviroments

LOUISVILLE, Ky., September 5, 2006 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today introduced the HCBWD, a new series of ultra compact indoor cameras featuring a wide dynamic color camera and lens. The series was created as a result of customer research that demonstrated a need for an ultra-compact, cost-effective, and wide dynamic surveillance camera for applications where lighting affects the image quality, such as at ATM machines, lobbies, and warehouses.

The HCBWD has a one-piece metal enclosure that allows for fast, easy installations in financial, commercial, school, professional, and other quality-sensitive CCTV applications. The HCBWD Series is designed for flexibility and at less than two inches square, its tiny size makes it an ideal choice when space is a constraint. It is available either fully assembled or camera-only for use with one of the Honeywell Quick Change lenses. The HCBWD provides a high quality color picture and accurate video images. It captures visible details in a scene, whether those details are in blinding sunlight or in the darkest corners.

“We are pleased to offer this new product,” says Roberto Testani, product manager, Honeywell. “It is simple and ready to use right out of the box, and yet it has all the features of a more expensive camera. It’s perfect for all applications where details are crucial.” As a result of customer feedback, the new HCBWD Series is designed for applications that require high performance and discreet surveillance under difficult lighting conditions.
