RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - Integrian, Inc. a developer of mobile digital video solutions announces the launch of its TransitCam TC-50, an advanced on-board CCTV passenger surveillance product for bus and light rail systems.
TransitCam TC-50 evolved from Integrian's rail passenger surveillance system, the TC-100, which is currently installed in over 1,800 railway cars in Sidney and Melbourne, Australia, as well as in the London Underground, Heathrow Express, SW England, and Madrid Express systems. Following a bid solicitation from New Jersey Transit in 2004, Integrian leveraged the proven technology and software of the TC-100 to create a fully ruggedized, 8-camera solution for bus and light rail systems.
With up to 30 frames-per-second on each of its 8 camera inputs, and resolution as high as 720 x 480 pixels, the TC-50 offers the best video quality in the industry. Furthermore, simultaneous recording and live wireless video streaming allow administrators back at the office a real-time view of what is happening onboard the bus.
The TC-50 enjoys a powerful feature list, adapted from the larger TC-100 product. TransitCam Product Manager Luis Rodriguez explains, "A feature-rich software application suite allows agencies to fine-tune video quality by configuring frame rate, image resolution, and file size. The TC-50 is able to wirelessly stream live video with enhanced error correction to multiple users at remote operation centers. It also uses industry standard encryption and anti-tamper protection so video, audio and metadata can be used as evidence in a court of law; and it offers storage options from 20 gigabytes to 1.2 terabytes. This flexibility makes the TC-50 an incredibly effective option for Transit Authorities and Fleet Managers."

TransitCam TC-50 is currently installed at New Jersey Transit, and has trials underway in California and Canada.
