New distribution and training centers open near Chicago, D.C. for custom home electronics distributor

Van Nuys, Calif. – Addressing the growing needs of custom installers in Chicago and the mid-Atlantic states region, AVAD LLC, America’s leading distributor of custom home electronics, announced today it opened new distribution centers in Elk Grove Village, Ill. and Gaithersburg, Md. Now fully operational, the new facilities are larger and more conveniently located to provide support to dealers on pre-packaged audio/video system solutions, as well as comprehensive product training, technical and sales support.

The Elk Grove Village facility now serves as AVAD’s new Central branch. It covers 32,700 square feet, and includes expanded demonstration show rooms to display products and highlight special offers, as well as increased warehouse space allowing enough room for the most popular new items in AVAD’s roster of superior brands. There’s also a 1,000 square foot training room, which can easily accommodate 50 attendees, and a new call center to provide technical support from installation to application. The entrance for will call is located on the East side of the building, next to the docks and drive-in door.

“We are conveniently located near our old site with an even larger space to better serve our dealers and business partners,” said Wally Whinna, executive vice president, AVAD Central. “Dealers in the Central and Mid-west areas now have better access to AVAD’s trusted brands and specialized trainings, as well as expanded demonstration facilities to test out all the latest technologies.”

Bob Gartland, president of AVAD LLC commented: “This facility is an example of AVAD’s regional expansion plans and investments in our future. We plan to create new ways for installers to keep up with the demand from homeowners who want cutting-edge entertainment and the convenience of automated home systems. As we grow, the AVAD team is even more prepared to help more installers serve their markets and build lasting success.”

The new AVAD Metro East distribution center is three times as large as the previous facility and houses expanded demonstration, training and service areas to better serve its growing clientele. Conveniently located off Shady Grove Road from I-270 in Gaithersburg, the will call, shipping and receiving docks are easily accessed on the side entrance to the building, while visitors to the main offices and training center enter through the main lobby which faces the I-270 freeway.

“We have seen a steady rise in growth and an increasing need to provide our dealer network with enhanced demo and training facilities,” said Kip Dellinger, chief executive officer of AVAD Metro East. “Moving into this substantially larger operation allows us to aggressively pursue our expansion plans with confidence that we can continue to provide excellent service and business opportunities to our ever-growing client base.”

Open house events are planned for April 2006 in both locations, where local dealers and colleagues are invited to join in the “AVAD Grows” nationwide celebration. Plans are underway to offer special promotions and increased trainings.
