Fairport, New York -- Bosch Security Systems, a full-line manufacturer of high-quality security systems and components, announces a new generation of its DiBos family of high performance digital video recorder (DVR) systems for closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance and security. The new hybrid DVR accepts both analog cameras and IP network video; acts as a stand-alone DVR or as a network video recorder (NVR); includes an internal hard disk drive or optional external RAID for video and audio archives; manages over 60 incoming video streams while offering 1, 2 or 4-CIF resolution with frame rates from 1-30 images per second. The DiBos hybrid DVR is a simple to use, all-in-one solution to CCTV video management and storage.
The high-performance DiBos has been upgraded to support MPEG-4 video compression as well as the ubiquitous standard JPEG compression. MPEG-4 provides superior image quality and because it is more efficient than JPEG compression, it allows DiBos to transmit more images simultaneously over networks with file sizes up to five times smaller, greatly reducing storage costs. For example, a hard drive that previously stored only one week's video archive can now store more than a month's archive in the same space, or alternatively the storage costs are dramatically reduced. DiBos systems are fully compatible with Bosch's portfolio of world-class MPEG-4 hardware video over IP encoders that convert analog camera signals into digital format and transmit them across the network, feeding directly into a DiBos DVR.
A redesigned "plug-and-play" configuration wizard and a completely new user interface make the new DiBOS quick and easy to use. DiBos DVRs now also include Bosch's innovative Bilinx bi-directional interface in addition to traditional RS232 controls. Using Bilinx with DiBos makes it easy to change settings for hard-to-reach cameras or where CCTV operation cannot be interrupted for servicing.
