The National Gallery of Art (NGA) is looking for a PIV system to meet HSPD-12 requirements.
The Gallery, based in Washington, D.C., is looking for a FIPS 201/NIST compliant solution, and at this point is seeking vendors to offer product overviews.
The system must be compliant with Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS 201) and all National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications (see attached list).
The Gallery intends to issue a solicitation to potential providers who have appropriate GSA Schedule Contracts. As part of a market survey of available products and services, the Gallery is offering all interested firms (including those not on GSA Schedule) an opportunity to present their product overviews to Gallery personnel.
The NGA is very clear, that this is not its RFP. "This is not a solicitation for proposals," writes the NGA. "There will be no compensation for the presentation."
The NGA will be allowing vendors a one-hour presentation, with about 15 minutes of vendor presentation, and about 45 minutes in a question and answer period that the NGA says may be "technical in nature."
