IntelaSight Provides IP Surveillance System for Gated Community

Arizona community by Bela Flor teams up with Cox broadband and IntelaSight for security

Chandler, AZ (August 15, 2006) – Bela Flor at Riggs recently implemented IntelaSight’s state-of-the-art IP based security solution within its gated community in Chandler, Arizona, with Cox Communications providing the broadband Internet connection.

IntelaSight installed three color/infrared cameras in bullet proof casings near the entrance to the subdivision and will monitor them in real time from their central video monitoring facility in Arizona. The system is also equipped with Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), which will allow IntelaSight’s intervention specialists to speak to potential vandals or trespassers through a loud speaker at the site. The residents can view the images online while at home, work or from anywhere in the world that has a connection to the Internet.

“Partnering with IntelaSight and Cox was probably one of the easiest business decisions we’ve ever made,” said Hudd Hassell, president of Bela Flor. “From the very beginning, we wanted to have a 24-hour guard-gated community but didn’t want to saddle the Home Owner’s Association with the traditional expenses that come along with it, namely $120,000 per year in salaries. Even in a boutique subdivision like ours, you’d break the bank pretty quickly at that rate, or have to charge monthly dues of $400-500 which just isn’t practical. Now we have the functional equivalent of a security guard posted at our gates 24/7, but at one tenth the cost. I couldn’t be happier with how well things have turned out.”

“We were honored to be a part of such a prestigious development in the East Valley,” said David Ly, president and CEO of IntelaSight. “Our cutting edge surveillance technology is not only cost effective but provides the residents with a more proactive and interactive security solution.”

In addition to its high-tech security, Bela Flor has future plans to provide free high-speed wireless coverage to its residents through a 6 MB broadband Internet connection from Cox Communications. Lot owners will be able to surf the Web and check email by the pool, in their homes or anywhere within the Bela Flor neighborhood.

"Cox Communications is happy to be a provider of state-of-the-art technology to Bela Flor. This really does showcase how developments in telecommunications can enhance people's lives and even their security," says Ivan Johnson, vice president of community affairs and televideo with Cox Communications.

Bela Flor plans to implement the same security solution at all of its future developments including its next one in North Mesa, AZ called Bela Flor Groves.
