Weatherized exit device designed for exterior and semi-exterior applications

Indianapolis, IN - Adding to its line of high quality exit devices, Stanley Precision Hardware, a division of Stanley Security Solutions, Inc., a provider of access control and integrated security solutions, today announced the introduction of a new egress control system. The Stanley Precision Hardware Weatherized Exit Device is specifically designed to endure regular and repeated exposure to varying climates, temperatures and weather conditions. As a result, the Weatherized Exit Device is the ideal egress control solution for exterior and semi-exterior applications, such as home and garden centers, lumber yards and growing facilities, whose primary business operations are based in an outdoor setting.

"Our customers come to us from a variety of locations with unique specifications and demands," explained Michael McCoy, product manager for Stanley Precision Hardware. "We recognized a need to provide an egress control solution that would perform with the same reliability as our high quality interior devices, but withstand the exterior elements."

Mr. McCoy continued: "Essentially, we added a weatherized alarm and touchbar switch to our already well accepted exit device. The similarities between our interior and exterior device end in their reliable function. Testing proved the Weatherized Exit Device is built strong, functioning perfectly in the most extreme environments, enduring both frequent and infrequent wet, dry, freezing and salty conditions."

In fact, rigorous independent lab testing proved the electronics exceed and conform to:

- MIL-STD 810F, Method 509.4, Salt Fog Test - simulating the effects of corrosive environments similar to the atmospheric conditions found in coastal regions

- MIL-STD 810F, Method 506.4, Driving Rain Test - simulating 4inches of rain per hour with 40 mile per hour winds

Housed within the device channel of the touchbar, the Weatherized Exit Device is available for inclusion in Precision Hardware's high-end Apex 2000 series, as well as the Economy Exit series, accommodating all budgetary and aesthetic needs.

Perfect for a high traffic, contemporary setting, the Apex 2000 series meets the most stringent needs of owners and architects as it is available in a variety of true architectural finishes and has an investment cast chassis.

When an economical but no less reliable exit device is required, the Economy series is a perfect solution. Constructed out of solid steel components, the Economy series is available in an aluminum or dark bronze powder coating finish and has a sturdy stainless steal latch bolt.

Similar to standard interior egress control devices, operation of the touchbar initiates an auditory alarm and triggers a switch that sends a signal to an offsite location such as a monitoring station, alerting personnel of unauthorized egress and, in a retail application, minimizing loss. Due to the unique environmental conditions in each geographic region, Precision Hardware's Weatherized Exit Device is designed to endure all of nature's elements, while providing a high quality reliable egress control solution.
