LAWRENCE, Kan., Aug. 2 -- Protection One, Inc., one of the leading providers of monitored security services in the United States, has named John Pumpelly as Senior Vice President of Alliance Relationships.
This newly appointed position was created to further strengthen Protection One's current strategic partnerships as well as to allow the Company to forge new relationships and build additional and effective revenue-generating alliances.
Pumpelly has more than 15 years of experience in business development, finance and corporate transactions. He joins Protection One after seven years at BellSouth Corporation, where he most recently served as Director of IP Licensing and also held positions in finance, operations, and corporate development. While at BellSouth, he played a significant role in the development and marketing of BellSouth(R) Security Systems from Protection One, which was formed in 2001 as a relationship between BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of BellSouth Corporation (NYSE:BLS) and Protection One, Inc. Under the name BellSouth Security Systems from Protection One, the two nationally recognized leaders in their respective industries offer a full line of security systems and services in nine states in the Southeastern United States.
Prior to his role at BellSouth, Pumpelly served in a financial auditing and transaction consulting role for KPMG, a provider of audit, tax and advisory services, in Texas and Eastern Europe. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He also earned his MBA at the University of North Carolina and is a Certified Public Accountant.
