SDC Releases 423MU Code-Compliant Egress Switch

Jan. 26, 2007
System designed for use with access controlled entrance doors

Designed for use with access controlled entrance doors, the new SDC 423MU failsafe exit switch when used together with the SDC MD31D PIR failsafe egress sensor, complies with releasing device requirements of all national building and fire life safety codes, including NFPA 7.2.1.6.2 and ICC 1008.1.3.4 Access Controlled Egress Doors.

When a person approaches the door, the MD31D sensor releases the lock immediately. If power to the MD31D fails, the door lock automatically releases. Also required per code, when the 423MU exit switch is manually activated the door releases for at least 30 seconds. The system is retriggerable, pushing the switch again during the timing cycle restarts the 30 second timing cycle. If power to the exit switch fails, the magnetic lock also releases.
