Risk Consulting Firm Kroll Acquires Intelligence Consulting and Analytical Training Company

Acquisition of Homeland Solutions LLC expands Kroll's homeland security services

NEW YORK--July 20, 2006--Kroll Inc., the global risk consulting company, announced today that it has acquired Homeland Solutions, LLC, a privately-held intelligence management consulting and analytical training company recognized for its role in developing and deploying the counter-terrorism information-sharing networks used by the nation's law enforcement and intelligence communities. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

"Homeland Solutions is an innovative company with a track record of producing real results for law enforcement organizations in the domestic war on terror," said Kroll's Security Group President Kelly McCann, an acknowledged authority on anti- and counter-terrorism tactics, techniques and procedures and a former Marine Corps special missions officer. "The addition of Homeland Solutions' intelligence training, management and consulting capabilities greatly enhances Kroll's portfolio of security services in an increasingly dynamic and complex threat environment."

Located in Wayne, Pa. and Washington, D.C., Homeland Solutions was founded in 2003 by a group of former senior military and government officials. The founders were responsible for the creation of the Joint Regional Information Exchange System (JRIES) and the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) currently used by the Defense Intelligence Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, respectively. The company has since been heavily involved in expanding these systems for other law enforcement agencies and in the private industry. The systems allow federal, state and local intelligence and law enforcement agencies to share terrorist threat reports, investigative leads, evidence and other data in a real-time, secure environment.

Homeland Solutions consults with government and private sector clients on defining and adopting best practices to prevent, detect and deter terrorist attacks. It has trained some of the most respected law enforcement and intelligence agencies to help them acquire the needed competencies and methods for all-source intelligence-gathering and analysis operations in response to the threat of terrorist activities.

Homeland Solutions will operate within Kroll's Security Group, which provides a full suite of professional security services to government agencies and multinational organizations, including security management consulting, high-risk environment training, and protective services.
