Nebraska city integrates ViconNet IP Digital Video System with city-wide wireless internet

Hauppauge, NY - Vicon Industries Inc., a leading designer and producer of video surveillance systems, today announced that South Sioux City in Nebraska has integrated Vicon’s ViconNet IP Digital Video solutions with their city-wide wireless internet service to improve security. South Sioux City wanted to be able to provide local police and 911 emergency centers remote monitoring of public school district video cameras. They integrated ViconNet into their city-wide wireless system, allowing city police to monitor video right from laptops mounted in their police cars.

“I’m very happy with the ViconNet system that allows us to view the video. It is simple to use, powerful, and highly adjustable. It has also proved effective in apprehending perpetrators,” says Lance Martin, Communications Director for South Sioux City. The infrastructure has been used in multiple venues from utilities to City Hall to local schools. The city looked to enhance security with the latest technology and selected Vicon’s ViconNet IP Digital Video solution to accomplish this.
