Panasonic Introduces New WJ-RT208 Series Real Time DVR

8-channel DVR offers features ideal for small- to medium-sized systems applications

Secaucus, NJ (June 22, 2006) - Panasonic Security Systems, a division of Panasonic System Solutions Company (PSSA), has announced that the new WJ-RT208 Series 8-channel DVR, previewed at ISC West, are now in stock and available for shipping. The WJ-RT208 Series incorporates the features most wanted by end-users, namely high definition and extended capacity recording, and also expands Panasonic's line up of high performance digital recording devices to accommodate small to medium sized systems applications.

The WJ-RT208 Series employs MPEG4 recording, allowing 8 channels of real-time video and audio to be recorded at 30 images per second. Each channel can be independently configured for recording rate, image quality and record mode. The new DVRs produce high resolution with excellent dynamic range and color reproduction to assure image accuracy and identification. On board recording capacity is 250GB, expandable to 2TB internally for long term recording applications.

Other enhancements adding to the WJ-RT208 Series performance include hard disk drive heat management for system stability, multiple unit configurations with control using the optional Panasonic WV-CU650 System Controller, and an automatic event log for recording operation history.
