Charles L. Nechtem brings two decades of experience in behavioral health consulting to central monitoring firm

HACKENSACK, N.J. – SafetyCare has named Charles L. Nechtem, Ph.D, as the company’s Director of Wellness.

Dr. Nechtem is the founder of Charles Nechtem Associates, Inc., a privately held corporation based in Newark, N.J. He established his firm in 1981 to provide employee assistance programs to corporations and institutions throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Dr. Nechtem completed his undergraduate degree at Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, MA and his graduate degree at Teachers College, which is part of Columbia University in New York. He has served as a psychologist at three New York hospitals, including, St. John’s Hospital, the Hospital for Joint Disease and Beth Israel Medical Center. He has founded and now sits on the boards of several prominent wellness organizations.

 

Dr. Nechtem, who envisions pathways to better people’s lives through his affiliation with SafetyCare, demonstrated such interests early in his career through volunteer work. He was a former coach of women’s volleyball and track and field at the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. He is also author of Hunter at Penn Station, a book of poetry and photographs, as well as a Newark Museum trustee and finance committee member.
