Garda Completes Acquisition of Vance International

Canadian security player grabs Virginia-based protection firm

After announcing that it would be purchasing U.S. security guard services firm Vance International in late November, Quebec-based Garda World Security has now completed the acquisition.

Vance was a subsidiary of industrial products company SPX Corporation, until Garda made a $67.25 million (U.S.) purchase of the Virginia-based company. Founded in 1984 and purchased by SPX in 2002, the company has over 3,700 employees. In addition to its headquarters in Virginia, has staffed offices in Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota and New York.

According to GARDA, Vance has annual revenues of $155 million.
