Plug-in installation for wireless primary or backup communications

Springfield, Missouri — February 18, 2008 — Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) now offers an innovative solution for security system installers looking for an easy-to-install wireless communication link between the panel and any DMP Central Station. The Digital Cellular Communicator – 463G from DMP, an expansion card for the popular DMP XR500 panel, provides a one-step method to establish a wireless communications path as either the primary link or a reliable backup. The 463G is the latest example of how DMP offers its customers innovative solutions that work.

"One of the keys to a strong security system is having multiple communication paths between the panel and the Central Station," said Vice President of Sales Jeff McAleer. "We've expanded the communications options available to alarm system installers through our new 463G Digital Cellular Communicator. There are other ways to establish a cellular panel communications link, but none that's easier, faster, and more reliable than the 463G."

The 463G creates full two-way IP communication between the panel and a DMP SCS-1R receiver. The compact expansion card installs inside the XR500 enclosure and is powered by the panel. The antenna is the only other connection required. No additional enclosures or support equipment are needed. Programming is fully integrated with the XR500 control panel using the DMP Remote Linkâ„¢ application.

SecureCom Wireless, LLC has been established by DMP to provide a reliable wireless solution for DMP dealers utilizing the Digital Cellular Communicators from DMP for the transmission of alarm signals from control panels to a DMP Central Station Receiver. SecureCom Wireless provides authorized DMP dealers with the ability to activate and connect the Digital Cellular Communicator to a GSM/GPRS data network in a single step. After establishing an account with SecureCom Wireless, DMP dealers are issued a Serial Number that enables them to activate the SIM card and configure the communications module on line using DMP's Remote Link application.

While DMP offers the convenience of SecureCom Wireless service, installers have the flexibility to choose any wireless carrier and to change carriers at any time with just a SIM swap.
