Technology veteran joins BioPassword to drive customer solutions

Former Documentum executive Matthew Shanahan brings experience in delivering business-critical solutions for Global 10,000 customers


Seattle—January 28, 2008 – BioPassword, Inc., BioPassword, Inc., the leading innovator in strong authentication software, today announced the addition of technology industry veteran Matthew Shanahan as senior vice president of marketing and strategy. Building on BioPassword’s record customer growth in 2007, Shanahan will drive the strategy for the company’s expanding market and product vision – to meet customer requirements for secure access to enterprise systems and data, including identity protection for the growing mobile and remote workforce.

As mobile and remote workers become an increasing portion of the enterprise, security continues to be a top concern for all organizations. In 2007, the digital identities of employees for Global 10,000 companies were hijacked resulting in the loss of data and records numbering in the millions.

Strategies for minimizing corporate identity theft will continue and, according to a new study from Forrester Research, 2008 will see large multinational corporations (MNCs) doing more to enhance IT support capabilities for these increasingly mobile global workforces.

Shanahan joins BioPassword with nearly 25 years of experience in the technology industry, recently serving as CMO of Teranode Corporation, where he helped to establish the company as the thought leader for informatics infrastructure in the life sciences industry. In addition to his tenure at Teranode, Shanahan was the original product manager at Documentum and spent 10 years in leadership roles until the company was acquired by EMC. Prior to Documentum, Shanahan was a manager at Accenture specializing in advanced enterprise architectures for Global 500 companies. Shanahan earned a BSEE and an MSEE from the University of Washington.
