Orlando, FL -- The Pinnacle 4.0 Access Control Solution from Checkpoint Systems, Inc., already one of the most popular and versatile access control solutions on the market, is now qualified for use with the NEC Express5800 Fault Tolerant (FT) server line. The announcement was made here at ASIS by Andy Lowen, National Product Marketing, Access Control Products Group at Checkpoint Systems, Inc.

“As physical security becomes more integrated with the IT infrastructure, Checkpoint is once again leading the way by ensuring compatibility of our Access Control System with the industry’s leading provider of mission-critical computing,” said Andy Lowen. “By combining Pinnacle’s proven reliability with the NEC Express5800 Fault Tolerant servers, users are assured of a robust and dependable solution for mission critical applications.”

The NEC Express5800 Fault Tolerant Server is designed with redundant hardware components inside a single server with up to 99.999% application uptime rating. Modular in design, both the I/O and CPU modules are hot swappable to ensure continuity in the event of a hardware failure. Because of the system’s redundant design, users will not experience any disruptions to data collection and storage. NEC’s FT server is engineered with dual Intel® Xeon® processors for increased performance and ESMPRO software utilities for remote management and analysis. Rack and tower configurations are available and only a single Windows 2003 and Pinnacle license are required.

“The NEC FT Servers have an outstanding reputation for operational efficiency and reliability,” said Mr. Lowen. “Maximized value and customer investment protection are realized with safe and continual IT operations and Checkpoint is pleased to make this best of breed solution possible.”

Pinnacle v4.0 and the company’s 32-bit Controller line including the AC-1200 and LANLink series accommodate a wide range of access control applications, supporting the unique needs of corporate campuses, schools and universities, health care facilities, government offices, industrial locations and multi-tenant environments.
