Package designed for access control and security management of mid- to large-size facilities

Compass Technologies of Exton, Penn., has introduced its new 5E v3.2 software. This new software package features a number of enhancements which economically and reliably meet access control and security requirements for mid to large-sized facilities. Its scalable design combines powerful software industry standard MSDE or SQL databases. Simple to use operator screens, intelligent door controllers, flexible wiring technology and a host of customer focused benefits are included.

High-level system features include graphical maps of the protected area, visitor scheduling and tracking, vehicle tracking, DVR integration, database partitioning, comprehensive photo ID badging and custom reports. In addition, Compass 5E provides integration to Dedicated Micros DVR's, the ability to partition the system database, and a building control interface.

DVR integration allows the user to stream live video as well as recall video segments associated with any system event including alarms and access attempts. It provides the ability to set pre-event times and total clip lengths. A unique utility allows archive and retrieval of video through a comprehensive search tool. The new database partitioning makes it easy for a system administrator to set up separate views of user information based upon operator's log on. This is ideal for multi-tenant office buildings, corporate campuses and educational institutions where only specific individuals have access to segments of cardholder data or system set up.

The ASCII utility runs as a true Windows service and acts as an interface to a wide variety of building control systems such as heating, air conditioning, lighting and elevators. This interoperability permits great efficiency and a better return on investment (ROI).
