After beta testing at hospitals, D-Lock gets approval in hospital market

Last year, Ingersoll-Rand Schlage Lock Company launched the New D-Lock. Over 60 beta sites tested the New D-Lock; among those were three hospitals including Methodist Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn., Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky., and Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.

After testing this exceptional lock, Methodist Hospital is so pleased they are going to install the product throughout all twenty-five of their facilities. The first facility to receive the New D-Locks will be the new heart clinic at Methodist Hospital, which will open in August 2005.

Providence Medical Center is also in the process of converting all of the hospital's locks to Schlage locks because of their reliability, quality and lifetime warranty. The New D-Locks at Providence Medical Center are under constant abuse from beds, trash and food carts slamming into them, as well as the volume of people entering and exiting the doors.

Jewish Hospital has had Schlage locks installed throughout the facility for over 25 years. They tested six of the New D-Locks and are very impressed with the durability of the product. The New D-Locks at Jewish Hospital have received over 2,000,000 cycles since their installation.
