Paxton Access (www.paxton-access.co.uk) and Milestone Systems (www.milestonesys.com) have joined forces and integrated the Paxton Net2 access control system with Milestone IP video surveillance software. Demonstrations of the solution received very positive response at the IFSEC trade show held in the UK last week.
Both companies demonstrated the integrated solution during the show, which attracts more than 25,000 international professionals from the security industry. Paxton and Milestone report that the integration of Paxton Access Net2 system and Milestone Systems surveillance software was met with enthusiastic response.
"Partners and end customers were very interested in the integration of Paxton Access Net2 and Milestone XProtect IP video surveillance software. They were excited to see a solution that lets them view the time and location-linked video of those gaining access, directly from the access control system's event log," says Adam Stroud, Sales and Marketing Director at Paxton Access Limited. "This provides immediate visuals of persons entering the property, and evidence for subsequent resolution of incidences. Security officers can respond quickly with more appropriate actions when they can see what is going on."
In the integrated solution, Paxton Net2 events that have been associated with an IP camera show an additional icon beside the event. Double-clicking the icon displays the video images archived in the Milestone XProtect software of that event taking place. This means that when security operators want to see what has caused an alarm, they simply double-click and take a look.
"Milestone software is designed with open architecture that allows for just such integration with other systems," explains Jens Nielsen, VP Sales & Marketing at Milestone Systems. "One of our main UK distributors, Gardiner Security, introduced us to Paxton, and all of us could see the benefits in providing a joint solution for improving the protection of people and property."
