HID Establishes New Branch in India

Harish Vellat named managing director HID India; appoints sales and operations staff

Contactless access control card and card reader company HID has strengthened its overseas operations with the establishment of HID India Private Limited, a new business branch that will offer the company's products to the Indian access control market.

The company's offices will be in Bangalore, in the Tower D Annex of the Millenia Towers. The office will reportedly handle support services for product fulfillment, warehousing, and specialized card services. The office will be overseen by HID India Private Limited Managing Director Harish Vellat.

Lester Doig, managing director for HID in the Asia-Pacific region, said that Vellat has already been developing the networks he needs to bring HID contactless offerings to India.

“During the last two years, Mr. Vellat has done an exceptional job increasing our sales network and expanding HID’s market share in India,” said Lester Doig in a prepared statement.

Prior to this new appointment, Vellat served as the HID regional sales manager for India, and before that had worked in India's information technology sector

HID announced the following additional personnel to the HID India office: John Kurien, operations manager; Pradeep Upadhyaya, finance manager; Ranjit Nambiar, national sales manager; Shrirang Satwe, regional sales manager for India West; Sandhya Gopintath, customer service manager; and Shradha Bhonsle, technical support engineer.
