Manufactured in Benicia, CA the new OptiStile 220SB from Gunnebo Omega incorporates the most reliable and effective anti-tailgating technology into a compact four-foot long pedestal. Perfect for environments where space is limited and a high level of security is required, the physical barriers on the 220SB can be set to either "pop-out" when an unwanted user enters the lane, or alternatively, as a "normally closed" barrier, only opening upon presentation of valid access control card.

The 220SB offers bi-directional operation, and detects pedestrian via industrial-duty infrared photoelectric beams. The turnstile is accessed using an access card. If an unauthorized card is presented, the lanes will sound an alarm and the barrier arms will remain closed to prevent the user from proceeding further without intervention by a guard. The device is designed to thwart "tailgating" through the lane.

The OptiStile 220SB is being presented by Gunnebo Omega at the 2004 ASIS show in Dallas.
