Companies work together to allow PCSC access control software to access Dedicated Micros DVMR; future interfaces are planned

Dedicated Micros Inc. of Chantilly, Va., and PCSC of Torrance, Calif., announced the integration of Dedicated Micros' digital video multiplexer recorders (DVMRs) to PCSC's LiNC-NET access control system.

"We were looking for a multi-faceted approach for our customers to combine features from both products into one software program," said Alan Kosaka, vice president of engineering at PCSC. "We wanted to allow our access control software to be able to access the DVMR directly from our "transaction logging screen," or, event list.

"The Dedicated Micros/PCSC partnership is a global partnering of PCSC integrators with Dedicated Micros products," said Mas Kosaka, president and CEO of PCSC. "We will continue to develop interfaces to their products for integrated applications solutions to vertical markets targeted by PCSC dealers. The partnership has allowed us to gain insight to Dedicated Micros product roadmaps, thus helping us to develop synergistic products."

The partnership will allow customers to verify a user's I.D. photo against the live digital image from the Dedicated Micros DVMR for efficient confirmation. Conversely, if a user's I.D. card is denied, the information will cause an event and security can match the photo against the digital images.

"The interface between PCSC's LiNC-NET system and our DVMRs will allow their customers to develop an integrated solution for ease of use," said Don Taylor, vice president of marketing of Dedicated Micros. We believe this new union will provide added value for managing video."
