Former Tyco VP Matthew Rogers joins USBX to lead investment banking in the security industry

USBX, Inc. has announced that Matthew Rogers has joined the firm as a Managing Director in the Security practice group. Rogers brings 13 years of international fire and security industry transaction experience to USBX. Most recently, Rogers was Vice President, Strategy and Business Development at Tyco Fire & Security, a worldwide leader in fire protection and electronic security, where he was responsible for heading the company's strategy, and corporate development activities.

"It's a pleasure to welcome Matthew to the USBX team. As our security industry practice continues to grow, I'm sure that Matthew's many years of experience will help ensure that USBX remains the leading firm for companies and investors seeking to raise capital, acquire and sell security firms," said John E. Mack III, CEO and Founder of USBX.

"Both John and I have come to investment banking from senior positions in the sector and therefore have knowledge of the industry that is much deeper than career investment bankers. I am eager to work with John to leverage that knowledge to help security companies grow by raising capital, making acquisitions and, ultimately, to achieve liquidity for their owners through sales and mergers. I look forward to working with John in expanding USBX's position as the leading investment bank in the security sector," said Rogers.

Matthew led key transactions at Tyco Fire & Security group, including the acquisitions of Sensormatic, Simplex Time Recorder and Scott Technologies. More recently, Rogers managed key divestitures, such as those of Sonitrol, Scott Aviation and NACC.

A British citizen, Rogers earned his undergraduate degree from Trinity College, Oxford and his Masters in Business Administration from Cranfield School of Management. Rogers will be based in USBX's Ft. Lauderdale, Florida office.
